Uganda: Makerere University in New Staff Recruitment Drive

Makerere University is in the process of recruiting up to 16 principals and deputy principals for its colleges.

The positions will fall vacant in January, 2013 according to a statement on the official website of Uganda's oldest university.

Among the colleges in need of new staff include the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, the College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources and Bio-security, and the College of Natural Sciences.

Others include; the College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the College of Education and External Studiers and the College of Business and Management Sciences.

The colleges are semi-autonomous academic units which contain schools, institutes and departments which carry out both general and professional training as well as carrying out research in various disciplines.

Makerere University adopted a collegiate system in 2011.
