Kenya: Three in Kerugoya to Hang for Robbery

Three men have been sentenced to death for robbery with violence by a Kerugoya court. Anthony Ndambiri, Martin Mungai Gitahi and Michael Githinji alias James Kinyua Ngetha were sentenced to death the senior principal magistrate Teresiah Ngugi.

The three were found guilty of robbing and killing George Mugambi on 9th March 2010 at Sagana trading centre. The court heard that on that day, the three, armed with metal bars and knives, killed Mugambi after robbing him of his Toyota Corolla car, a mobile phone all valued at Sh445,000 Airport.

"This is my first time to handle this case since I am just a month old, so my judgment will be on what I have read from what Magistrate Daniel Ochenja found out from the witnesses that showed that the three were found guilty for robbing and killing George Mugambi" Senior magistrate Teresiah Ngugi told the three and the court.
