Nigeria: President Jonathan Scores Lagos High

President Goodluck Jonathan has scored the Lagos State Government and the Local Organising Committee of the 18th National Sports Festival high after what he termed as the "excellent and successful hosting of the event on Sunday.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the festival, President Jonathan who was represented by the Minister of Sports and Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi commended Lagos for providing standard facilities for the

games which he observed, could come handy in the preparation of Nigerian athletes for the Olympics.

"I must commend the government of Barrister Babatunde Raji Fashola for excellent hosting of the festival, particularly, in the provision of facilities."

In his speech, Governor Fashola said he was fulfilled that the festival provided a pedestal for young athletes to be discovered.

"The real winners are the young athletes whose future can only be brighter. Now that they have been discovered, we have to support them to realise their full potentials."
