Angola: Judo Earns Angola First Medals At SADC Youth Games

Luanda — Judo has earned Angola the first five medals, including two gold, one silver and two bronze, at the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Youth Games taking place in Lusaka (Zambia) from December 7-16.

Judokas Aírton Viera Dias and Dedaldino António got the god medals, Bruna Freitas obtained the silver while Elizandra da Conceição and Dézio Mateus won the bronze.

in football, Angola scored their first win after beating Swaziland by 3-0, in a third round game of group B with a hat-trick by Jerson.

Angola is in Zambia with a 120 members delegation participating in athletics, football, basketball, judo, boxing, tennis and swimming.

Attending the games are Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique, Botswana, Swaziland, Tanzania, Mauritius, Lesotho, Namibia and South Africa.

In the last edition held in Swaziland, Angola got six medals, including four gold, one silver and one bronze, finishing in the sixth position.
