Luanda — The former coach of the Angolan national football team, Mário Calado, has said in Luanda that maintaining striker Manucho's current good shape is an asset for the squad and a guarantee for the country's participation in next year's Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON2013), to happen in South Africa in January and February.
The coach was commenting the latest good performance of Manucho Gonçalves for his Spanish team (Valladolid) who lost last weekend to Real Madrid by 2-3, with Valladolid's goals scored by the Angolan player.
The mentioned game was part of the Spanish league's 15th round.
"We've noticed that lately Manucho has shown a great talent and willingness to show his capacities. The goals he scored boost his ego and self-esteem, if he continues like that he will be very important for the objectives of the Sable Antelopes (Angola's national team) in the AFCON2013, in South Africa", emphasised the coach.
He warned, however, that the player must continue to work with a lot of humbleness and effort to boost his performance.
