Kenya: Interdist Alliances and Cisco Launch Partnership

Cisco System has appointed Interdist Alliances as the new Cisco products authorized distributor for East Africa. The partnership will help channel Cisco's programs to address margin pressures and price disparities among distributors and partners. It has also provided them with more access to technical support and analytics as part of the networking vendor's drive to expand its reach to more East African small and midsize businesses.

With Nairobi as its East Africa headquarters, Cisco designs, manufactures, and sells networking equipment. Speaking during the launch, Interdist Sales Manager Claude Croci commented on the contract award. 'Cisco is a strategic partner for us and our new voice in East Africa will develop and enhance the existing powerful network of re-sellers '

He explained the new system was performance-based, which meant financial incentives were given after sales were made. This was an improvement from the previous model where discounts were given upfront, which saw many re-sellers and distributors undercut each other for business and severely hurt margins, the CEO added.

Saggia pointed out as part of Cisco's efforts to raise the capabilities of its partners, the partnership will also open up their access to Cisco's smart services. For instance, partners will be able to leverage a monitoring system which will give better visibility of their client's networks.

"We eye better efficiency and growth with consolidated and less complicated rebate program, and by opening up access to "smart" services and analytics by teaming up with Interdist Alliances." Said Dr. Gilbert Saggia, Cisco Regional Manager during the launch of Interdist Alliance as the new Cisco platinum distributor at the Safari Park Hotel Nairobi.

Interdist Alliances core business is value added services.

"We are proud of the high level of specialization we ensure to our customer base. We offer solutions from the world's leading high-technology vendors like Cisco, EMC, Oracle and Riverbed. Our partners draw on our expertise enabling them to deliver a high quality service, backed by our extensive range of value added services which includes a Specialised Partner Program." Said Croci.

"Our partner program is the result of solid partnerships which enhance our re-sellers' expertise and market access, enhancing their ability them to provide solutions that meet the needs of their respective markets, while ensuring the delivery of the latest and most cost effective solution. Moreover, this program provides a number of benefits to our loyal and trusted re-sellers and gives them peace of mind, knowing they are dealing with an accredited partner who understands their business goals, leading to a maximum return for their investment" added Claude Croci.
