Liberia: No Shortage of Petroleum Products

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has disclosed that there is no shortage of petroleum products in Liberia.

The Ministry's comment comes in the wake of reports that the product is scarce on the local market.

A press statement quotes the Ministry of Commerce as saying that report about shortage of petroleum products is an unscrupulous business practice allegedly by some filling stations.

The Ministry warned that any business entity caught hiking the price of gasoline and other petroleum products will be dealt with drastically.

The Commerce Ministry disclosed that Liberia Petroleum Refining Company supplied 177,000 gallons of petroleum products to mainstream gas stations on December 7, 2012, while 80,000 gallons were supplied on Saturday, December 8, 2012.

"The public is thereby assured of the constant supply of petroleum products and all other strategic commodities during the festive season," the statement said.
