Minister of Communications Ms Dina Pule has the pleasure of announcing the information and communication technology (ICT) policy review panel that will advise the department as it proceeds towards developing a Green Paper and later, a White Paper on Integrated National ICT Policy.
"It is humbling to receive the amount of support that we are getting from society and the industry as we seek to overhaul the ICT Policy landscape in our country.
"It is a great act of patriotism that so many people answered our request for their time and their expertise. A lot of the respondents are people that we have worked with before and they bring a wealth of experience to our processes," says Minister Pule.
The panel will be divided into the six focus areas:
- Telecommunications and Information Technology
- Content Development
- Digitising Government
- Investment and Manufacturing.
The panel's first meeting is scheduled for January 2013, a further three meetings are scheduled for the rest of next year. The TORs for the Panel are available on the Department of Communications (DOC) website.
