Tunisia: SNJT Supports UGTT General Strike, Calls for Dissolution of Revolution Protection Leagues

Tunis — The National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT) expressed, in a statement published on Monday, its support to the general strike announced by Tunisia's General Labour Union (UGTT) for next Thursday, saying that "any attack against the workers' organisation is an attack against all trade unionists and all those who believe in the capacity of the labour union to preserve Tunisia's stability and integrity."

Besides, the Union urged the interim government to speed up the dissolution of the Revolution protection leagues militias which, it said, represent a danger for the democratic experience in Tunisia.
