Gambia: SK Hospital Receives Support From British Philanthropist

Robert Bob Jones, a British philanthropist on Thursday presented medical items to Serrekunda Hospital, at a presentation ceremony held at the hospital in Kanifing.

The donated items include syringes, dressings, anti septic wipes, reading glasses, clothes among others.

Speaking at the event, Musa Mendy, of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education revealed that they also did similar donation to the AFPRC General Hospital in Farafenni. The donor, he said, has been coming to The Gambia for the past 14 years and has been working towards the development of The Gambia both in the health and the education sectors.

For his part, Robert Bob Jones, the donor, thanked the management of the hospital for accepting his gifts, whilst urging them to put the items into good use. "My small contribution will be useful to the hospital and the patients," he said.

Momodou Jallow, the principal nursing officer at the hospital, expressed delight in receiving the donation. He thanked the donor for the gesture, assured him that the items will be properly utilised, and called on others to emulate the donor in assisting the hospital.
