They had a reason for the season and the experience turned out to be a December to remember. The evening was cool, calm and collected as they all sang to the glory of the Creator. It was a Christmas Carol organised by the International Praise Church (IPC), Abuja, at the Radio House Chapel.
Moving from one Christmas song to the other, wining different prizes, the congregation, dressed in different Christmas attire, had every reason to be at the Carol. From 'Silent Night' to 'Mary's Boy Jesus Christ', from ' Jingle Bells' to 'Joy to the world', the atmosphere, modulated by the frequency of the highest praise, was, to say the least, the best moment in 2012.
Speaking at the event, resident pastor of the Church, Bishop Edwin Musa Jarumai said; "today, as always, we are here to celebrate the Light John the Baptist announced-the true Light which gives light to every man coming into this world. We have Christmas because of Jesus, we celebrate Christ in Christmas Experience."
The clergy added that; "everyone celebrated John the Baptist, everyone wanted to be baptised by him, everyone honoured him, but one day he said, "I am only sent to announce the coming of someone greater than I am," Christmas Experience is meant to showcase the Lordship of Jesus Christ, it is meant to announce His goodness to humanity."
Highlight of the Carol was ministration in songs by the Praise Makers. Others include presentation of gifts to outstanding members of various departments. Pastor Patrick Agbaji, the tireless Church Administrator won the star prize of the year, he went home with a Panasonic split Air Conditioner while Sister Victoria John won the second prize and went home with a Plasma Tv.
Like the three wise men that were tending their animals, the worshippers sat in a village square- like- setting to eat together and they had a merry Christmas Carol.
