Nigeria: MFI Launches HP Indigo 5600

MFI pro print, the distribution partner for Hewlett Packard (HP) has launched the new HP Indigo 5600 digital offset printing press into the Nigerian market.

At the recent launch of the printing press in Lagos, it was stated that it was pitched with a "one-shot ink" solution that would extend the Indigo market to plastic cards, graphic overlays and high-quality imaging on synthetic substrates' market.

While demonstrating the workings of the new product, Regional Product Manager Pro Print, Mr. Jignesh Mehta, said the new product delivers unmatched digital offset and photo quality with high versatility and productivity.

According to him, it offers seamless switching between jobs and media types, with a new added ability to print on synthetics, which, he said, make it an ideal for PSPs with a diverse job mix.

The Regional Product Manager noted that the new product is capable of printing well over two million colour pages or five million monochrome pages per month, the press is the leading choice for medium volume printers.

He said; "Using the Enhanced Productivity Mode (EPM), he stated further that it can print colour jobs at a speed of 90 pages per minute. It also reaches a monochrome speed of 272 ppm. Multiple drawers enable continuous printing, reducing operator intervention and increasing uptime.

"The HP Indigo 5600 model is claimed to deliver 68 ppm in standard colour mode, 136 ppm for two-colour jobs and 272 ppm for mono jobs. The product is also aimed at the security printing industry. A new red-fluorescing invisible ink of the HP Indigo 5600 model can be used to pursue new security-printing applications, such as ID cards, tickets and high-value coupons. A white ink option has been included for markets such as greeting card and static-cling window signage production.

According to the Managing Director MFI, Mr. Altaf Lalani, HP Indigo 5600 is a printing revolution that provides solution to the need of businesses in the printing industry. MFI will provide technical support for customers thereby ensuring wonderful experience in the application of the new product to their business.

Also speaking at the event, Sales Regional Manager Indigo & IHPS Africa, Mr. Houssine Chekkar, said: "Our new offering is a business-to-business solution that will open gateways for new business opportunities for our Nigerian print partners and the existing Indigo users."
