Kenya: Jilted Lover Burns House Built By Uhuru

Police in Gatundu are hunting for a man who torched his girlfriend's house. Kiganjo chief Kamau Ikinya said Kiarie Kamau, 35, burned down a house belonging to Waithera Karu at around midnight on Saturday at Chura village.

Ikinya said Kiarie, who is Waithera's lover, found another man at her house. Kiarie and the man quarreled and fought. Kiarie was overpowered and had to flee.

Kiarie came back to Waithira's house the following day. She fled leaving him behind. He then burnt the house. Waithira is mentally sick. The house was built for her by area MP Uhuru Kenyatta who also pays school fees for her two children who stay at the Gatundu children's home.
