Tunisia: Clashes in Bouchbika - NCA Calls for Unity

Le Bardo — The National Constituent Assembly (NCA) Presidency urged on Tuesday the lifeblood of the country to give proof of unity and vigilance after the clashes on Monday at the border area of Bouchbika (Feriana/Kasserine).

In a statement published Tuesday morning, the assembly paid tribute to the army and the police who are "carrying on the combing of the forests, wadis and heights in the area" looking for the armed people on the run.

Clashes took place on Monday afternoon in Jbel Snekk (Bouchibka, province of Feriana) between units of the army and the police and a group of armed men leading to the death of policeman Anis Jelassi and the injury of several others.

The assembly offered sincere condolences to the family of the policeman "who fell a martyr while fulfilling his national duty, braving armed terrorists," reads the statement.
