The Commonwealth has set up a ‘Youth Voices in the Commonwealth' website for young people (aged 15-29) to submit and vote on the questions they would like ministers to address at the 8th Commonwealth Youth Ministers Meeting (CYMM).
By sharing their ideas and concerns, young people will help define the top issues for ministers to consider and discuss, and therefore the youth development focus of the Commonwealth and our 54 member governments.
Contributors could also win an iPad.
CYMM will be held in Papua New Guinea from 15 to 19 April 2013 under the theme ‘Young people at the centre of development’.
Using the platform, young people can focus on the issues affecting them, including topics identified in the Commonwealth Plan of Action for Youth Empowerment 2007-2015. These include education, employment, health and sexuality, environment, leadership, peace and security, equality, social inclusion and youth voice.
The closing date is December 21, 2012.
