Kenya: National Museums 'Absolut Art'

For the very first time on Thursday evening, the National Musuems of Kenya showcased to the public their permanent art collection.

The collection which boasted of contemporary art and traditional art spanning 100 years, had works of renowned and upcoming artists like Joseph 'Cartoon' Njuguna, Oliver Okoth, Wilson Mwangi, James Mutisya, Moses Nyawanda among others.

The exhibition whose main sponsor was Absolut Vodka also provided the platform for the national winners of the 2012

"Experiencing Kenyan Heritage through art" competition to be rewarded.

Elsardt Kigen was the overall winner and won a one week all expenses trip to London to view the various art galleries there courtesy of art collector Anthony Athaide.
