Kenya: Kwaheri 'Bwana Balozi'

The tour of duty for HE Ndumiso Ndima Ntshinga, the South African ambassador to Kenya came to an official end last week. He has been re-assigned to a new post within the continent. A farewell cocktail was held on Thursday evening at Intercontinental Hotel Nairobi which was attended by government officials, members of the diplomatic corps and the business fraternity.

The High Commissioner commonly referred to as 'Balozi' a name he really loves, arrived in Kenya in September 2010 with his main duty being improving bilateral relations between South Africa and Kenya. This he has done exceptionally well and culminated in the official visit between the deputy president of South Africa and the vice-president of Kenya in November 2012.

Balozi will be remembered for his good heart and love for the economically disadvantaged children in Kibera and other parts of Nairobi. Notably he has been at the forefront as the only ambassador to support the anti-jigger campaign by being physically involved in the medical camps organised by Ahadi Trust. The Star takes this opportunity to wish him all the best in his new posting.
