Tunisia: Funeral of National Guard Warrant Officer Anis Jelassi

Kairouan — The funeral of the National Guard warrant officer Anis Jelassi who died during armed clashes, on Monday, between National Guard units and a group of gunmen at Jebel Snak-Tam Smida, delegation of Feriana, in mid-eastern Governorate of Kasserine, took place on Tuesday in the delegation Chbika (Gouvernorate of Kairouan).

Caretaker President of the Republic Moncef Marzouki attended the funeral of the warrant officer, escorted by Interior Minister Ali Laarayedh and General Rachid Ammar, Chief-of-Staff of the three armies, with attendance of several security executives and citizens.

Mr. Moncef Marzouki delivered the defunct's funeral oration, commending his courage in the accomplishment of the national duty and the defence of the homeland. On this occasion, he presented his condolences and his heartfelt feelings of compassion to the family of the late.
