Kenya: UN Security Council Man Runs for Nandi Senator

A former employee with the UN Security Council in New York Joseph Tanui has plunged into politics and is now running for senator in Nandi.

Tanui 40, holds an MBA from Kenyatta University and a Bachelor of Science Education from Moi university. Between 2001-2008, he served in the General Service Unit's elite squad charged with providing security to top government personalities.

He hails from Chemase and is contesting on a URP ticket in Aldai constituency will be seeking the senator ship position in the United Republic Party ticket and would battle it out with Lawyer Stephen Sang for the URP ticket.
