Windhoek — EMEA Finance an economics magazine covering Europe, the Middle East and Africa has honoured Bank Windhoek with the 'Best Bank in Namibia' award, at a ceremony held in London on December 7, 2012.
"Despite the unpredictable economic environment during 2011-2012, Bank Windhoek has once again shown positive results. Bank Windhoek's existence continues to be characterized by a strong commitment to fulfilling its role as a partner in the development, economic growth and prosperity of Namibia. These facts are being recognized by international publications, such as EMEA Finance," Christo de Vries, managing director of Bank Windhoek said.
EMEA Finance notes: "Namibia did not escape the global downturn. But this has not stopped Bank Windhoek, Namibia's second largest bank, from lending. Its continued support of local businesses has led us to name it Namibia's best bank.
"Bank Windhoek's innovation is matched by its continuous expansion, and today it has the largest retail branch and ATM network in Namibia, with more expansions planned for the coming financial year."
