Gambia: Theft At Jofi Preparatory Nursery School

Unknown person(s) on Monday night broke into the office of the head teacher of Jofi Preparatory Nursery School in Manjai Kunda and went away with valuable documents and materials meant for the pupils of the school.

Speaking to this reporter who visited the scene, John Tijan Kabba, the acting head teacher, described the incident as unfortunate, noting that this is not the first time it is happening. He said that the situation is really frustrating especially to efforts at providing education to the children in the area. He revealed that the thieves broke the office window, scattered the whole place and took away the pencils, A-4 papers and medicines inside the office.

Kebba said that they have reported the matter to the police and are now waiting to see the outcome. He further stated that they are planning to have a security guard to ensure that such a thing doesn't happen again. He then appealed to the people living around the school to be vigilant.
