Kano — Kano State chapter of the Interna-tional Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) has called for the speedy passage of the bill prohibiting violence against persons. In a statement signed by its chairperson, Maryam Ahmad Sabo, FIDA said passage of the bill would help to protect women. "We are making a clarion call to all stakeholders (parents/guardians, police, Civil Society Organizations and government) to work hard to ensure safety and protection of women and children against abuse."
