Gambia: Prison Break Trial Adjourned

The Banjul Magistrates' Court, presided over by acting Principal Magistrate Baboucarr Secka, on Tuesday adjourned the criminal trial involving the state against Sulayman Jammeh alias Daddy Boston and 18 others.

When the case came up for continuation of hearing, the defence counsel for the 1st and 5th accused persons, Lawyer E. Jah applied for an adjournment stating that some issues came to his attention and in the interest of justice and public interest he would write to the concerned authorities.

The police prosecutor 4224 Sanyang did not object to the said application by the defense. The presiding magistrate granted the application and the case was adjourned to the 24th December 2012.
