Gambia: Super Nawetan Committee Fines Sukuta, Bakau

The 2012 Super Nawetan Committee has fined Sukuta and Bakau each D2,000 for violent conduct during their group B encounter played on Sunday at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium.

Both sides were fined after their fans stoned each other for almost 15 minutes in Sukuta's 2-1 win over Bakau in their Super Nawetan clash on Sunday.

The violent clash resulted in the damaging of some properties at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium.

The committee, whose drive is to promote and develop football in the country, wasted no time to levy heavy fines on both Bakau and Sukuta for the violent brawl.

The committee has also awarded maximum points to Manjai after their opponents, defending champions Lamin, failed to honour their group A fixture on Saturday at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda.

Lamin was also fined D500 for damaging the gate of the Father Gough Sports Complex.

Monday's game between Brufut and Brikama ended 1-0 in favour of Brufut at the Brikama Mini Stadium.
