Gambia: Film Premier to Be Launched Soon

A new film called Kachikally is in its final stage to become a reality on December 8, 2012 when it will be launched at the Alliance Franco-Gambienne on Kairaba Avenue.

The film, which features Africa and its cultural heritage, was last Wednesday presented at the National Centre for Arts and Culture (NCAC) head office in Banjul.

Senior officials from the NCAC and journalists attended the ceremony.

Speaking to journalists shortly after the presentation, Efe Igori, film director, said he always wants to do something related to Africa and its cultural heritage.

"I came to the NCAC to present my new film for them to know that we can do quality film here," he said.

The film director added that they have been working on this film for a year and a half, adding that the film comprises a team of fourteen talented Gambians.

Baba Ceesay, director general of NCAC, thanked Efe Igori and his team for coming with this new film, an interesting movie that features Africa and its culture.
