Nigeria: Insecurity - Construction Company Vacate Project Sites in Delta

Warri — SETRACO Construction company handling the East-West road project in Delta State and the multi-million naira Trans-Warri -Ode-Itsekiri bridge and Access roads have vacated all their projects sites until the security situation improves.

Vanguard learnt that the management of the construction company had just concluded a meeting over security issues as a result of the kidnapped of one of their foreign staff two weeks ago and another on Monday at the same East-West road site at Ughelli.

It would be recalled that armed men killed military security personnel attached to the company on Monday and abducted a foreigner in the process.

Speaking to Vanguard on condition of anonymity, sources at Setraco disclosed that they have been asked to vacate all project sites until further notice, saying that they were all working under serious threats.

Armed men and kidnappers appears to have resumed their nefarious activities in Delta State in the wake of the yuletide season, even as security has been beefed up in various part of the oil city.
