Kenya: Teso Aspirant Gives Towels

A women's representative aspirant in Busia County has donated sanitary towels worth Sh30,000 to an NGO in Teso. Florence Wainga gave the pads to Elimu ya Mtoto Msichana Foundation director Doris Wekesa to be distributed to standard eight candidates in three primary schools.

Wekesa said the schools which will benefit are Kiriko, Kokare and Kamolo primary schools. Wainga also donated over 300 jacket reflectors to Boda boda operators in Teso. EMMF boss appealed to other organisations emulate Wainga.

Wekesa said EMMF undertook the task to enable the girls in rural schools attend classes without bothering their parents who are already overburdened.

She warned those who sat their KCPE exams to be wary of premature pregnancies saying they will regret the consequences. Wekesa said plans are in the pipeline to organize seminars for the immediate former standard 8s to teach them how to live.
