Egypt: Council of Governors: Homeland Above All Other Considerations

The Council of Governors met on Wednesday 12/12/2012 under Prime Minister Hisham Qandil and asserted the importance of political stability to address a number of important files.

Talks centered on logistical arrangements for the constitution referendum day set for Saturday 15/12/2012.

The Council of Governors at the meeting asserted the necessity of stability in Egypt.

The governors underlined the crucial role of the Armed Forces and police during the referendum on the constitution that will be held on 15 and 22 this month.

They urged all political powers to place the higher interests of the homeland above all other considerations. They further urged national powers to work seriously for national unity and seek a way out of the current political turmoil in Egypt.
