Angola: 1º De Agosto's Victory Considered Message for Afrobasket2013

Luanda — The conquest of the African champions club cup of basketball by 1º de Agosto is a message of Angola for the teams that will compete in the Afrobasket2013, in Cote d'Ivoire.

This was said to ANGOP on Thursday in Luanda by 1º de Agosto's captain, Joaquim Gomes "Kikas", during the homage paid to the African champions.

He said that Angola showed that is prepared to recover the African title at the level of clubs, taking into account the performance of 1º de Agosto, Petro de Luanda and Libolo, against the Tunisian teams.

"It was a message to tell that the Angolan basketball is alive and that is ready to recover the title. We did not give any chance to the best team of Tunisia, the country that won the last Afrobasket ", he said.

1º de Agosto won the seventh African title after defeating Petro de Luanda by 80-69, in the final game of the championship.
