Angola: Statoil to Support Oil Sector With Technical Capacity Building

Luanda — The Angolan oil industry will count on the support of the Nowegian company of STATOIL to increase its technical competence and development.

This was said to the press this Thursday in Luanda by the chairman of STATOIL, Helge Lund, after the audience with the Angolan Vice-president, Manuel Vicente.

STATOIL official said that his company has been for long time partner of Sonangol and Angola, in general.

He said that during the meeting it was reinforced the great interest of STATOIL in developing its activity in the area of the Angolan pre-salt.

"This was focus of our talk, the past experience and this new path", said Helge Lund.

"We are already operators in two blocks and we are partners in three, of course, we are processing in relation to pre-salt, seismic and then we have to interpret and drill to have more concrete projects in this domain", he said.

He said that STATOIL has already Access to seismic to the two dimensions and now it is working on the seismic in three dimensions, saying that the preliminary observations are similar.
