A TOTAL of 1,019 graduates are on Friday expected to be conferred with different Masters' Degrees at the Mzumbe University, Dar es Salaam Campus.

Deputy Principal of Dar es Salaam Campus College, Dr Andrew Sulle, said in a press statement that the graduates will be awarded 11 different Masters' Degrees.

"For the first time the college will award two different Masters' Degrees jointly with the UK-based Stanford University," Dr Sulle said, naming them as Masters of Science in Economics and Finance Development (MCsEFD) and Masters of Science in Development Policy and Practice for Civil Society (MScDPPCS).

According to the deputy principal, all preparations for the ceremony were ready and almost all graduates have confirmed their participation. "As it is our tradition the university's Chancellor, Justice (rtd) Barnabas Samatta, will award degrees to graduates," he said, calling to citizens in the institution's vicinity to attend the occasion.

Dr Sulle named programmes to be awarded by the college alone as Masters in Business Administration (MBA), Masters in Public Administration (MPA), Masters of Science in Human Resource Management (MSc.HRM) and Masters of Science in Accounting and Finance (MSc.A&F).

Others are Masters in Marketing (MSc.MKT), Masters of Science in Procurement and Supply Chain Management (MSc.PSCM), Executive Masters of Science in Human Resource Management (EXMSc. HRM), Executive Masters in Public Administration (EMPA) and Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA).

"Since the establishment of Dar es Salaam Campus College formerly known as Dar es Salaam Business School, many Tanzanians have shown interest to further their education at masters' degree level," Dr Sulle said, adding that the college is growing fast and they are currently constructing new buildings to meet students' demand.

Apart from the Dar es Salaam Campus College, Mzumbe University has another campus in Mbeya and centres in Mwanza and Tanga regions while the main campus is in Morogoro region.
