Nigeria: Army Chief Offers Path to Sports Development

Commandant of the Command Day Secondary School, Ojo,Lagos, Lt Col.YD Ahmed has urged the Nigerian government to create more platforms for sporting activities amongst young people, reiterating that such was the only way the country's falling reputation in sports could be revived.

Speaking at the school's 21st Annual Inter House Sports competition during the week, the Commandant recommended a catch-them-young policy , emphasising that the benefits which include a sound, healthy mind and enhanced brain functionality for academic excellence, were inexhaustible.

The Rhinos (Red House) won against the Stallions, Tigers, Palms and Dragons respectively, with 14 gold, 12 silvers and 12 bronze medals.
