Zimbabwe: Marondera Hosts Alliance Party

Marondera will host the "Red Fox/Rat & Mouse Alliance Party - Ghetto Mash UP" this Saturday where several activities such as the selector and emcee contest has been lined up. The party, which starts at midday, will also see guest appearances from Mic Inity and his Hotta Fyah Band as well as Dadza D and Appie T.

The top emcees and selectors were picked from the auditions for "Marondera's Got Talent", a talent search show where upcoming artistes battled it out.

According to Danmore Mutyambizi, the owner of Rat&Mouse, the gig was aimed at bringing reggae/dancehall music lovers together through music.

"We are trying to introduce a new concept where we bring together different talents and celebrate life. We also want upcoming artistes to learn a thing or two from seasoned musicians.

"There should be no rain fears since there a is a big tent outside. Red Fox have experience in playing reggae/dancehall so they will partner DJs from Rat &Mouse the likes of Leon Cee, Ninjaman, X-Box, 9-Star," he said.

As part of the big prizes, the best emcees will partner Mic Inity for a live DVD recording which will be released after the talent show.

Mic Inity has become an inspiration to many ghetto youths in Marondera, his hometown. He is currently riding high with his latest album titled "Freedom".
