Nigeria: Fast Food Outlets Shut in Cross River Over Tax

Calabar — Our correspondent reports that yesterday, officials of the state's revenue service were seen sealing some of the outlets.

Mr. Gregory Okem, Director of Legal Services in the IRS, told journalists that the agency gave owners of outlets enough time to comply with payment of their tax liabilities, adding, "But they have even refused to open their books for assessment by our staff. If they claim they are not making money, okay let us see their account records."
