Lagos — The Nigerian Navy will intensify patrol on waterways across the country, the command's information officer, Lieutenant Commander Jerry Omodara, has said.
In a statement issued yesterday, the Navy said the operation is targeted at controlling illegal bunkering, oil theft and other illegalities on the nation's waterways. According to him, three ships, helicopters and several patrol boats would be deployed for the exercise. He said the patrol is expected to begin on Sunday, December 16, 2012.
