Namibia: Julinho Sets Tempo in Northern Stream

JULINHO Sporting lead the Northern Stream First Division after the opening two games of the season and will look to build on that advantage this weekend.

Sporting have four points, following a 1-1 draw against Cuca Tops on Saturday and a 5-1 victory over Touch & Go a day later.

The early pacesetters can maintain their lead if they defeat third-placed African Lions tomorrow and Golden Bees on Sunday.

Both matches will be played at the Rundu Sport Stadium.

Onambula United occupy second position on the log with the same number of points as Sporting but with an inferior goal difference.

They defeated Golden Bigs 1-0 in their first match of the season courtesy of a Sam Shafishuna Mekondjo effort before sharing a point with Unam Ogongo after a 1-1 draw.

Onambula next face Cuca Tops in tenth at the Tsandi Sport Stadium tomorrow and then bottom side Touch & Go on Sunday at the same venue.

The third-placed Lions have three points, the same tally as United Stars in fourth, Chief Santos (5), Golden Bees (6), Golden Bigs (7), and Young Rangers (8).

Santos inflicted an opening day 3-1 defeat on the Lions, however they recovered impressively to beat Young Rangers 4-1.

Santos then fell victim to Golden Bees in their, losing 2-0 and in turn Bees were stumped 3-1 by Rangers.

Unam Ogongo are in ninth position with two points following their 1-1 draws against Onambula and Epupa Eleven Stars, who are second from bottom on one point.

United Stars and Cuca Tops have only played a match each after their derby was postponed due to heavy rainfall in Rundu on Saturday.
