The newly crowned female champion of the just ended Brufut Marathon, Mariama T. Jallow, has been presented with an air ticket to any European destination plied by Brussels Airlines, the sponsors of the ticket. The air ticket is the biggest in the package of prizes awarded to Jallow, a Gambia Police Force and national athlete, who won gold in the 21-kilometer half-marathon.
Presenting the ticket to Mariama as she mounted the podium at the run, Madam Alimatou Baldeh of Brussels Airlines expressed delight that her company is associated with this great run again.
Commenting on the prize, Brufut Marathon Association chairman, Ba S, Jabbie, said the air ticket has added spice and a huge attraction to the annual run and BMA will forever be grateful to Brussels Airlines for this wonderful gesture.
This is the second time the airline is donating to the BMA. Only last week, former champion Hoja Secka was flown on the same package to run in the Braford City Marathon in the United Kingdom coming out third position in the 10 km race.
