Gambia: Brikama Thump SK Central

Despite securing their first ever points in the Super Nawettan football competition, Serekunda Central couldn't stand the might of Brikama who put them to the sword with a thumping 3-1 defeat in a game played at the Serekunda East Mini-Stadium on Wednesday.

Brikama's first goal came after Ousman Manku handled the ball inside the penalty area and a penalty was given while he was also shown a straight red card. Musa Bojang converted the resulting spot kick in the 20th minute of the game to give the Sateba boys the lead.

Coming into the second half, another penalty was awarded but this time to S/K Central after defender Lamin Jarju intercepted the ball with his hand with a shot from Muhammed Kandeh in the penalty box The penalty was converted by Ousman Sanneh to level the scores in the 47th minute.

But despite giving out a good account of themselves, Serekunda Central were hard done by two late goals that condemned them to a third defeat in four games. A fantastic free-kick from Sainey Sambou in the 87th minute restored Brikama's lead before Yankuba Jarju's fine finish in added time sealed the win.
