The number of people injured on Friday in scuffles between President Mohamed Mursi supporters and opponents in Alexandria rose to 10.
Most wounds were caused by bladed weapons, Ministry of Health undersecretary Mohamed al-Sharkawi said.
Ambulances treat all field injuries on the spot, he added.
Scuffles erupted earlier on Friday around al-Qaed Ibrahim Mosque after scores of protesters chanted slogans against Mursi and the Muslim Brotherhood which prompted Mursi supporters to reply with their own chants.
Protesters torched three vehicles in the area around the mosque claiming that they were carrying bladed weapons used against them.
