Nigeria: Donated Grants, Foods Intact - Gov Wada

Lokoja — The Kogi State Governor, Idris Wada has said the N500 million grant from the federal government and other donations made towards the upkeep of internally displaced persons (IDPs) are intact.

Governor Wada, who was apparently reacting to allegation that the money has been diverted to other uses, said it would be judiciously used for the re-settlement of the displaced persons.

The governor gave the assurance during a meeting with traditional rulers, religious leaders and liaison officers of the local governments on polio eradication, routine immunization and primary health care, organized by the state Ministry of Health in Lokoja.

Governor Wada assured that his government would continue to provide counterpart funding for polio eradication and other health facilities, while urging parents to always present their children for vaccination.
