Kaduna — General Officer Commanding (GOC), 3 Armoured Division, Jos, Major General Jack Nwogbo has advised 700 officers and men of the Nigerian Army set to be deployed on a peacekeeping mission to Liberia, to fight back where necessary.
Nwogbo gave the advice at the graduation ceremony of pre-deployment training for the concerned officers at the Nigerian Army Peace Keeping Centre (NAPKC) in Jaji near Kaduna on Friday.
According to Gen. Nwogbo, the Nigerian peacekeepers must comply with the United Nations Mission in Liberia's (UNMIL) rules of engagement and force protection measures and must also fight back when the need arises.
"You must fight back when the need arises, remembering that, the rules of engagement are not to restrict you, but to offer guidance in the use of application of force", he added.
The troop is expected to leave Nigeria for Liberia tomorrow.

What again are we doing on Liberia? How many more Nigerian soldiers need to die in Liberia. We hope Jonathan's brothers and cousins are members of the contingent in a foreign war.Nigeria is on fire and we can afford the luxury of barging into other country's business. When can we ever get our priorities right?
