Nigeria: Police Arrest Two Suspects Over Murder of Lawmaker

Kano state Police command has arrested a principal suspect and one other person over the killing of Alhaji Danladi Isa Kademi, a lawmaker in Kano House of Assembly and a member of All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP).

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris told reporters weekend that among two suspects at Bompai, Police Headquarters, one of them has a strong case to answer.

Idris also added that "for now, Police is working on the theory of assassination, going by some facts on ground".

"We have two suspects in our custody right now, and I must tell you that one of them is a principal suspects. From the facts we have in our files, he has a case to answer.

He added that "We are still interrogating the suspects; and more arrests could be made. Our assurance is that within a short period of time, we will get to the root of the matter".
