Nigeria: Rockview Tennis Seeks Youth Development

The Grand finale of the Rockview Hotel Tennis Club saw tennis veterans clash in Abuja over the weekend. The Grand Finale which was tagged, Ladder Tournament, saw an exhibition game pit Steve Emedohu against Bayo Akinpade.

Emedohu cruised to a 6-1, 3-6, 1-6 victory over Akinpade.At the doubles category, Remi Akinloye & Aliu Sheu were up against Dennis John and Tyav Simon. The Akinloye and Tyav team won 10-8 with Akinloye termed as the King of Aces, Tyav and John were unable to counter his almost perfect Aces.

The final game was an exhibition clash between Michael Adejunwon & Tyav Simon with the former with a decent 10-5 points win.

The President of the Tennis club stated after the game, in a chat with Journalists that the tournament served as an avenue to discover and develop young talents as well as bring them to limelight and the international stage.
