It has now emerged that the Jubilee Alliance presidential nomination which was scheduled for Monday at the Kasarani Sports Complex will now most likely take place on Tuesday because one of the parties is not ready.

Sources in the alliance told Capital FM News that the nomination had been re-scheduled because Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi's United Democratic Forum is still assembling the required 1,500 delegates.

"The party has so far assembled 1,000 delegates," an insider said on condition of anonymity.

Deputy Prime minister Uhuru Kenyatta's The National Alliance and Eldoret North MP William Ruto's United Republican Party are understood to have assembled their 1,500 delegates each, ready for the primary.

Some of the TNA and URP delegates have already travelled to Nairobi for the exercise which was to take place on Monday.

"We were ready since last week. It is UDF that is not ready for this exercise because they are not comfortable with a democratic nomination," another source said. "UDF prefers a boardroom agreement which will not happen."

Technical teams preparing the nomination had been meeting in Lavington since Sunday morning to finalise the plans.

UDF is represented in the team by its Secretary General Dan Ameyo and Chairman Hassan Osman while URP is represented by Adan Duale and Lawyer Kipchumba Murkomen among others.

TNA has Johnson Sakaja, Onyango Oloo and Kareke Mbiuki.
