Rwanda: Kung-Fu Championship Set for Sunday

THIS year's national Kung-fu Championship is set for this today at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.

The championship is set to attract nine teams which will all be vying for individual and team winning trophies.

The Rwanda Kung-fu Federation chairman Jackson Mucyo Havugimana told Sunday Sport yesterday that they hope to have a successful and competitive championship.

"We hope to have good competition because all teams have been preparing in detail for this event," added Mucyo.

According to Mucyo, contenders will only compete in the men's category while the women category will be introduced next year.

Competitors will vie for honours in the Toul category which will be comprised of three players from each team while individuals will compete in the Sanch category.

The one-day tournament will attract teams countrywide namely; Kimisagara Hung-Li Club, Mask de la Paux, Issa Club, Taich Club, Musanze Shaolin, Rubavu Shaolin Temple, Muhanga Kung-fu Club, National University of Rwanda Kung-fu Club and Nyanza Shaolin Temple.
