Lubango — Twenty thousand residents of Huíla Province's capital are already benefiting from the project dubbed "Águas do Lubango" (Lubango Waters) being implemented since 2008 by the local government, ANGOP learnt Friday from the provincial director of Energy and Water, Abel João da Costa.
Speaking to the press during a visit of members of the district and provincial secretariat of the ruling MPLA, as part of the celebrations of the ruling party's 56th anniversary, marked on 10th of December, the official said that the project has already benefited people from the wards "A Luta Continua", "Ferroviário", "Sofrio" and "Comandante N'zaji".
The project is based on construction of 265 systems of water abstraction with the capacity of pumping 400 cubic metres of water per hour, which is allowing families to consume potable water.
