Nigeria: Two Die in Kano United Crash

Two persons lost their lives yesterday afternoon when a bus carrying players of non-league side Kano United was involved in an accident.

Kano United chairman Mohammed Aminu said the bus driver, Salisu Mohammed Danbatta, and kit manager, Shehu Usman, lost their lives when the team bus somersaulted after Gusau on their way to a national play-off in Sokoto.

The competition involving the country's top eight amateur clubs started in Sokoto yesterday.Aminu also disclosed that some players were injured in the crash and are now in hospital in Kano receiving treatment.The team bus lost control around a sharp bend before it somersaulted, officials said.
