Kenya: Erykah Badu Brings the House Down At Carnivore

Tuesday night on the eve of the country's 49th Independence day, all roads led to Carnivore for the much anticipated Erykah Badu concert.

Badu who flew in on Sunday night was in the country was accompanied by her band and her production team. She was the star performer at the Tusker Lite Experience, which turned one this week.

Hundreds of fans thronged The Carnivore grounds to catch a glimpse of her and she did not disappoint. After an up-beat performance by curtain-raiser Jazz artiste Isaiah Katumwa from Uganda, also popularly known as Uganda's sax wizard Ms Badu took the stage a little after 9pm.

She did a number of songs from her albums Baduizm, Mama's Gun, New Amerykah Part one and Part Two. Her set lasted about two hours and when she was done the crowd kept shouting for an encore.

They particularly loved her rendition of her famous hits including Tyrone, On and On and Bag Lady which the guests sang word for word. It was truly impressive.

Among the guests who made an appearance were rapper Bamboo, MTV's Lisa Amenya,Camp Mulla's Miss Karun and DJ Pinye who will collaborating with DJ Adrian for a show dubbed the PA System. The pair brings you the event at Club Volar on Ngong Racecourse on Saturday from 8pm.
