WITHOUT doubt, Pink Diamond international models academy of Sphiwe Benasho is bringing in a new glitter to the world of catwalk; with an initiative of not necessarily wanting to pick 'who does it best', but to edify how to do it professionally with an international under-tone to it.
This somewhat new development has exited newly-recruited models, who are the first to register under the Pink Diamond Academy label. Under this academy, international catwalk modelling skills coupled with etiquette are intensively imparted into these girls.
For Sphiwe, it's not all about runway modelling but a holistic approach to a beautiful, professional and profitable modelling etiquette that can sell her trained models to that international demand for their service. To be clear-cut, Sphiwe's Pink Diamond it set to transform selected models to international professional standards.
Already, Sphiwe's Pink Diamond girls have been picked to be hostesses during this year's Zambia's prestigious Ngoma Awards; a development most of these girls have described as humbling and a huge leap forward in their modelling career.
With just a few days of intensive training, Sphiwe's girls are already bubbling with confidence. They strongly feel and believe that very soon, they will add up to the list of internationally acclaimed models should chance to compete on such a platform arise.
Most of the youthful girls say even the fee for the course that Sphiwe is currently charging is less, considering what she is putting in to making these girls what they are proud of.
One of the girls, Precious Mwewa, who is a marketer by profession told Times Entertainment on Monday at Cece'c Boutique at Hotel InterContinental that the days she has spent in the Pink Diamond Academy have immensely heightened her marketing skills and is currently seeing it at a different level.
"I am more organised, more confident, my eye contact with clients is good, and my presentation in terms of speech has tremendously improved.... I am really heading somewhere, watch me!" she says.
The Academy is so far grooming a total of 30 models.
