Zambia: K250 Million Looms for 7 'Dreams Show' Contestants

COME December 28, one of the seven contestants in the tightly contested music reality show, Dreams, will be pocketing a cool K250 million, although his or her millionaire status will be short-lived pending the Kwacha rebasing on January 1. 2013.

The strictly musical talent search reality show has reached its climax with contestants, comprising of four girls and three guys, off-loading what looks like their very best, not necessarily to please the judges but their voting fan base.

Tension among the contestants is certainly mounting as days draw closer to the grand finale set for the Government Complex. Who will it be?

Last Sunday's show at LIV Night Club was simply explosive from start to finish. The cheers; shouts, amusements and captivating moments, never seemed to depart the luxurious and somewhat befitting venue as everyone was awestruck with a lively show.

Show host, Lulu Hangala, knows how to fit herself in a driving seat of the show, kept it undisputedly bubbling. She is just the right girl for the job, a lot would agree.

Without doubt, the competition is intense and viewers can't just tell who is really on top of things to deserve the top slot and that important winning vote.

Even The show host Lulu confesses that the talent display by these few contestants is captivating and simply amazing to a point that one would remain spell-bound for some time as these youthful performers and singers take to the stage to execute a live performance.

"I cried at some point when I saw how amazing these young people were... I just said, yes this is truly my Zambia with its rich talent," says Lulu.

One amazing act though worth mentioning was by a diminutive but highly talented and energetic Natasha who executed Angela Nyirenda's hit track Mwambo. One wonders how the composer of the song felt seeing a youngster executing her song much to the amusement of the audience.

What was so surprising was the fact that the girl had a performance that could easily make her lose breath control but surprisingly she was just amazing with that rare combination of dance and singing!

Judge Scarlet just closed her mouth with both her hand in total amazement, while the audience went wild. She deserved the standing ovation that she got with Judge Owas Mwape predicting that she was destined to the top three.

Other contenders that still remain strong every moment are the likes of Trina, who has competed on an international level before. Trina's voice is simply amazing and all is left for the voters.

So all in all, the race to the prestigious life-changing 250 million Kwacha are; in alphabetical order : Blake, Cecelia, Daniel, Natasha, Shadrach, Trina and Zilla.
